Please take a moment to write an e-mail or make a quick phone call to members of Congress! All you have to say is, “Please let the representative/senator know that now is the time for Congress to allow Filipino Amerasians to come to the U.S. as sons and daughters of U.S. citizens. Please do not forget about Filipino Amerasians in immigration reform.”
There are four sets of people in Congress that… you should consider contacting: (1) your representative and both of the senators in your state, (2) any representatives or senators sitting on committees related to immigration, (3) any representatives or senators sitting on committees related to veterans’ affairs, and (4) any representatives or senators in areas of the country with large concentrations of Filipinos (e.g., California, Hawaii, New Jersey, New York, and Virginia).
Use http://www.congressmerge.com/onlinedb/ or http://www.govtrack.us/congress/members to look up the websites for each member of Congress you want to contact. On their websites, you’ll find phone numbers to their offices, contact forms to send e-mails, and sometimes Twitter and other social media information.
